The biggest vessel carrying the largest ever cargo of iron ore to Koper

8th May 2014 saw the arrival of the largest cargo vessel ever to call at the Port of Koper, the 327-metre long Helen N, which was delivering 200,201 tonnes of iron ore, another record for the port as well as corroboration of the fact that Austria ranks Luka Koper as an important strategic partner. A test shipment of iron ore briquettes shall also be arriving in the near future, and such semi-processed raw material cargos are anticipated to increase over the coming years.

Luka Koper’s terminals achieved some very encouraging results in April. At the Bulk Cargo Terminal, two shifts loaded a total of 292 trucks transporting 7,150 tonnes of soya derivatives, sugar beet pulp and soyabean, which is the largest ever amount recorded in a single day. The monthly record was also broken at the Container Terminal, where in April they handled 58,155 TEUs.
