Last week we reported on the arrival of CMA CGM’Balzac, the first vessel of Maersk Line and CMA CGM’’s newly established Phoenician Express container service which provides a direct link between the Northern Adriatic and the Far East . The French and Danish operators have each contributed four vessels to this service, which shall call at Koper every week. Today the Maersk Karachi, belonging to the fleet of the world’s largest container ship operator, tied up alongside Luka Koper’s Container Terminal. 
Built in 1998, and with a capacity of 6,690 TEUs, the Maersk Karachi is 300 m long, and has a 43 m beam which facilitates the lateral arrangement of 17 containers. 
Luka Koper will transfer a total of 1,600 containers to and from the Maersk Karachi over the comming hours.
