On 27th September a delegation of Egyptian freight forwarders and shipping agents, members of the Eiffa – Egyptian Freight Forwarding Association paid a visit to Luka Koper. The meeting was attended also by Čedomir Bojanič, the president of the Slovenian association of port logistics providers and Emil Bandelj, president of the Slovenian ship and freight agents association. Luka Koper representatives presented the port of Koper with a focus on the cooperation with Egypt, which traffic significantly increased in the last year mainly due to reefercontainers with perishable goods. Talks went on about possibilities to extend the cooperation and we also informed our guests about our developing projects.

In the next days the delegation will continue with meetings with representatives of the Port of Koper in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. In each country they will visit one of the container terminals and met with members of the national associations of freight forwarders.

Medhat El Kady, head of the delegation and president of the Eiffa on the occasion said: I’m convinced this visit will contribute to the expansion of knowledge, strengthening relations and improving recognition in the global environment. Because of current non favourable economic situation in Egypt the logistic sector must look for new opportunities and think for innovative solutions – and I’m sure this visit at the port of Koper will contribute to such ‘out of the box’ thinking.
