Early in the morning we berthed “Neptune Barcelona”, vessel for the transport of vehicles on its maiden voyage. The ship was built in Rijeka (Croatia) and it is owned by Neptune Lines. The 200-metre-long and 32-metre-wide RO-RO vessel can carry up to 7,000 passenger cars in its 13-floor garage with 58,000 square meters.
It’s Neptune’s first of 19 vessels intended for deep-sea transport of vehicles from Europe to the Far East. Until now, the company provided short sea transportation services, focusing on the Mediterranean, North Europe, and the Black Sea.
