The project INWAPO, led by the Venice Port Authority, aims at increasing the attractiveness of the waterborne transport by improving the efficiency of the river- and sea-ports. The project partnership focuses on four systems of waterways.
The partners are analysing the waterborne transport potential in the hinterland of each port, the needs for improvement of each port to achieve better intermodality and interoperability between river and sea ports and lanning new transport services/links (integrated with railway and river transport ways).
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) finances 85% of the activities from the October 2011 to September 2014.
